Colon surgery

I had colon surgery on march 4th 2013 ,the surgery went well but I can not get rid of the diarrhea ,the drs have got me on shots and pills ,it does not help,i go from 5 to 7 times a day and they are a lot of them are watery . No fresh veg and no fresh fruit it will go through me . It makes me so weak I can not get very far from the bath room . I have lost a lot of weight  is there any one is going through this can help me ,I don't think some times the Drs. Know what to do they go from one thing . Bettyjean, look at some of the posts by Morecambe, on this page and also check some of his older posts. He's got great advice for those who have had their colons removed. See if his suggestions will give you some relief.

So  after the surgery I have diarrhea and so far nothing is working I hope u can help

I have pseudomyxoma  peritonei  cancer it is a jelly like and it got around my organs I had so much of it so when the surgery went in it was so bad they had to remove my colon,total abdominal colectomy  and they had to debulking my abdominal cavity. My spleen was remove ,took part of my stomach out and took park of my bladder and had to reconstructed them so I have a small stomach .i am a 68 years old so when they took the colon out they took the small bowel and sewed it to the recuim

Bettyjean, what was the purpose and the extent of the colon surgery? Different forms of surgery can have different side-effects. Perhaps someone here can give you a hand if you give us a better idea of what the surgery was for.
