Complication of Crohnes Disease

Ok here is my question. My boyfriend has had Crohns Disease most of his life.  This is something very new to me , I don't know much about it.  Also when he was younger, the lining of his stomach was messed up due to the fact that he had a severe lack of iron and was put on iron pills.  Now he takes nothing for his Crohns disease.  It's a catch 22.  If he takes medication for the Crohns, it agrivates his stomach. But if he takes something for his stomach, it agrivates the Crohns. What's left?

these 'sudden onset of spasms' happen to my boyfriend with crohn's pretty often.  last summer he had to be hospitalized because they kept getting increasingly worse.  i've been trying to find information on these spasms and why they happen, but i haven't had any luck.  do you know anything about them? is it because of not taking meds?

Yeah my partner also has it. It can be scary tho I haven't been able to find anything on sudden onset of spasms or something of the like. See the meds mess with your kidneys and liver hence why the blood work needs to be done so often (every three months or so) but if they don't take the meds it can be quite dangerous also i believe. He scared me a little while ago and I was about to call a triage nurse where i work (hospital) as he was having some sort of spasm attack, like he couldn't move and was in severe abdo pain... scared me but he was ok after about 40mins.

He can get meds by infusion. Tell him to see his GI as soon as possible. It will only get worse if not!
