i cant stop burping.

About a year ago, i was at a family picnic, and i got a really bad chest pain, and tried burping to relieve it, thats when the pain started. Since that day, i have trouble eating, everything i eat i feel nausious, i feel like puking, i burp, and it relieves the pain for a few, than starts up again.I have had an upper G.I done, and they said that i had a slight case of  acid reflux, and that i had air in my stomach, and that i swallow alot of air, due to anxiety, or stress. But i am only 16 years old, i hate having this feeling, its painful, and it keeps me up through the night, its made it so nothings as fun for me as it use to be, and i feel like i cant even live my life as a teenager, because everything i do bothers my stomach. I mean within the past few months too, its gotten to the point, sometimes i feel its all in my mind,i think about it, the pains go away, or it makes them worse, and ive been starting to have chest pains, and back pains.I dont know whats wrong with me. And my gastroenterologist NEVER called us back with results of any of my testing, so i dont know what i could possibly to to change this feeling.

I know this is 7 years later but I am just trying to find the answers to why I am feeling so sick.   Nauseous, burping, bloated to the next level and I don't feel like eating.    I've been sick for a while and because 14 years ago I was diagnosed with depressed and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety, the doctors aren't listening to me about my health problems.   They just say I have anxiety.   It's frustrating. 100%.  It's very sad.

I know what you mean about certain things making things worse.  I used to suck on lemon drops when I would have nausea, and now the thought of lemon drops makes me nauseous.  I've now switched to peppermints.  The thought of drinking lemonade also makes me nauseous because of a nauseating medicine I had to take that tasted like lemonade.

I realized I hadn't mentioned this, but I'm a 17 year old female and I'm frustrated too.  I was nauseous all the time and it took doctor 2.5 years to finally figure out why (gastroparesis).  I still have undiagnosed problems but the doctors are finally taking me seriously.  I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (conversion disorder) and all the doctors wanted to focus on only that when I was telling them that, yes I was anxious, but it was because of all my health problems, and if they would just fix the health problems, I wouldn't be anxious anymore.  I don't know if you have that same feeling but I wish you luck and hope you find some relief.

yeah i was trying the water thing today, sometimes it makes me feel better, sometimes it doesnt, for some reason my body hates water.and it makes me have stomach aches.but i tried it as far as trying to eliminate the swallowing air.

yeah ive been having horrrrible back and chest pains, like i can be eating sometimes, and i completely lose my appitite, cuz like ill get really tight in the chest, and feel nausious, or my back starts hurting. It doesnt help either that im almost 17 years old, and ive got a huge chest. causing alot of back problems also. But i dont really drink alot, not just cuz im underage, but i cant stand feeling nausious, but when i drink on occasions, everything triples the pain.So ive had to cut that back almost completely. The area i live in, there are really not that many gastro doctors, i know that for a fact, and my burping is horrrible.I have woken my mom up and my room is upstairs.I told my mom about the prevacid, and i think imma pick some up tomarrow and try it, see how that works.

One more thing. to stop the burping, take domperidone 10mg (motilium or gilax) 30 min. before meals. :-) doctor prescribed it to me to stop the burping :-)

i have had the same experience. I was diagnosed with GERD. At first I went to a cardiologist just to make sure that the difficulty to breathe and the numbness that i felt is not of a heart attack. I was prescribed with Nexium and advised to undergo abdominal ultrasound which fortunately came back with no bad findings. I am currently under medication for 6 months @ maximum dosage because the pain was super out of this world and radiated to my back (probably because i've been drinking beer and tequila *stubborn*). Better go to a different doctor. Try prevacid first, it's the same as nexium but less expensive.

That's good you are going to try prevacid, it will have less side effects than a prescription.  With the problem with allergies, you can try having a glass of water always sitting next to you and when you need to swallow for the mucus, you swallow water instead of air.  I would see if you can find a different GI doctor, dealing with a jerk is horrible.

yeah well the guy was a real jerk.He called us once and canceled my appointment. And he put me on medicine, that made me sick to my stomach, i was vomiting, and seeing things.I had got real lightheaded. And it was prescriptioned. I will try the prevacid and see how it works, and i feel i swallow alot, not only from anxiety, but like my allergies get really bad,and i get mucus in the back of my throat, and i can never get it to come out, so i swallow to try getting it to go down, which also irritates my stomach.

It sounds like reflux and you should be on meds for that.  Try prevacid which is sold over the counter.  That could help a bunch of your symptoms.  Also, you can try an anxiety med to see if that can stop the swallowing.  You should try calling your GI doctor because he may have forgotten.
