diabetes and crohns and having kids?

I am 24 and have had diabetes for 18 years. I have been having blood in my stool and being tested for crohns. I'm getting married and we would love to have children someday, would that be possible to have children with the two diseases if that's what's going on with me?

Thank you for answering that cause I had been crying and stressing cause I still don't have the test result if I do or don't but I wanted to see if it was possible for us. You made me feel better but yes as soon as I find out I'll be talking to both my docs and seeing what we can do.

The issue with having kids with Crohn's disease is the fact that the inflammation of the GI tract can sometimes result in scarring in the pelvis and damage the Fallopian tubes, preventing pregnancy in the natural mode. This is not the norm however. Most can have kids without any trouble.

Welcome to the gastroenterology communit!  Yes you still could have kids, but you would want to talk to your doctor first about all of the risks.
