Do LFTs return to normal after a GB attack?  If so, how long does it take?

Once you have gallstones they don't just go away, there are some medications to help ease the pain.  My gallstones were quite bad, and my gallbladder wall thickened alot.  I had to have surgery.

I also agree that chinese medicine is quite good for somethings and I use it alot.  But I just need to point out that they believe the Spleen is the centre of the body's well-being, not the gallbladder (just read that last night! - it was news to me!)

Definitley see a doctor soon though, I let mine go for years and have had alot of unneccessary pain.

If they are not causing you any pain then I would not do anything with them. I hade my GB out over a year ago - it does have its onw side affects. Although there is no more pain (GB pain can be unbareable) but because there is a constant flow off Bile you might have problems with eating fatty foods, and something called dumping syndrom which is an urgent need to go to the toliet.

If you are thinking about having it out before you make the decission try going to a chinnese traditional medicine center. they belive the the GB is the center of everything. I went to one after I had mine out and they indicated that they have ways of doing this which is not as drastic as removal. even if they can help it is worth a try.

good luck

Generally you either live with the occassional pain or you have your gallbladder removed. I had my gallbladder removed yesterday and I'm at home recovering.  If you are in a lot of constant pain i would def reccommend getting it removed to avoid a lifetime of pain and discomfort.

unfortunately, it's not like kidney stones where you pass them or can have them lasered down. How much pain are you in? How frequent is the pain?
