I had it done in March of this year. One GI put me on Clexra an antidepressant that was to help with spasms and when I told him that I had a ton in like minutes of the hour he said it was impossible and never seen that before. They told me that everything looks great the lining of my esophagus and all the way down except of the small hernia. I was on Protonix and tried Aciphex and they did nothing. Where did you look to find info on hiatal hernia? Especially causing strange symptoms? The 1st GI Dr that did it I can't even get him to see me so I can talk about the hernia and if it is causing my problems. 2nd Dr made me feel like a retard. I asked where a hiatal hernia was located.(I understand where they are I was hoping he would point it out to me) he told me where all hiatal hernias are located. My jaw dropped. Sadly it has consumed my thoughts and taken over what i do and eat everything. Thanks for the encouragement need it today.
How long ago was it when you had the endoscopy? What medicines have you tried and what made it worse? Are you having issues with acid reflux? It seemed liked my symptoms got worse while I was taking Prilosec, Prevacid, and especially on Nexium. While on Nexium I was getting chest pain from just drinking water. My doctor thought that I had a hiatal hernia, based on just my symptoms, but the upper endoscopy didn't show one. In reseaching hiatal hernia I found that they can cause a lot of strange symptoms. I know how frustrating it can be not to feel well. I'm going through that now as well. Hang in there and while it seems impossible, try not to let it consume your thought. Stress can cause a lot of issues as well. At least that's what everyone keeps telling me. Best of luck! Hope you feel better soon.
