Severe diarrehea after small bowel resection

I have had Crohn's Disease for 30 years and I just had my first surgery where 2 feet of small bowel was removed.  I was told that I would feel so much better than before.  Well, I am 2 weeks from surgery and can't eat anything without getting dark, watery diarrhea.  I have cramping and am very weak, which I know is probably because I am only 2 weeks from the surgery.  My surgeon told me to eat probiotic yogurt but that gives me diarrhea too.  I was never told that it would take years to feel better like I am reading in some of these posts!  How can people work when we have these problems?  And has anyone ever experienced this diarrhea and then gotten better?  Any suggestions for eating?  I would appreciate any help!
