Large intestine removal

Can an infant live and grow after a large intestine has been removed?

Yes.....they grow and live a pretty normal life.  The good thing is that the baby will know no different and will take to having no colon better than older kids would.  My son had his colon removed at 12 and is now 42 and very healthy.  He competes in marathons, ultrathons, is a mountain biker and a speed hiker that puts him in the middle of no where for weeks at a time. Will the baby have a colostomy or J-Pouch?
