Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy surgery after fissure your experiencecs?

From a previous thread, wanted to post a new thread to get more attention and questions answered:

I had a chronic fissure for about 5 months. I was in extreme pain just about everyday. To make a long story short, I went on a crash diet of lots of fiber, eating well, exercise (lost 15 pounds) and took dulcolax everyday. I did have normal, soft BM and the fissure pain decreased and almost went away. But the day I had one hard movement, it came back. I had a chronic fissure. I did EVERYTHING medically (anusol, hydro cream suppositories, etc) and even the Gastro said I did everything, so I opted for the Lateral interal. I am now 4 days after the surgery (it was a breeze, dont remember anything), and the pain has been ok. I have been on percosets and eating normal. I have had a few BM, and they were not painful. The Doc put stitches in and I think I might have just broke them after a harder BM today. My comments to the group is for a chronic fissure (I have had years of IBS problems) is the surgery is an easy and great way to go. So far I think the surgery has helped. My question to the group is 5 days later, the pain is going away, but I found a pimple looking thing on the outside and I wonder if that is normal. It doesnt hurt and the bleeding is minimal. I went running today after the dog, which might have made it worse. Any comments on the recovery of the surgery? Also, any questions, please feel free to ask me about the surgery.

I deal with fistula's so I guess I am not much help...

When is your follow up with the surgeon? You need to make sure you heal completely before doing any type of physical activity.
