Lower adominal pain

I have a lower adominal pain, under the ribcage, along the line of the diaphram. I believe it is related to gas, because once I release gas, the pain goes away. During the day, there is no pain or any awareness, but at night, while lying down, I can hardly get any rest and bothers me all night.

This was one of my main symptoms before my gallbladder surgery, come to think of it.  It felt like I constantly had bubbles sitting up against my diaphragm.  I was a little constipated with it, but got only partial relief when I'd resolve the constipation.  You could try simethicone (like Gas-Ex), but it didn't give me much relief since it was gallbladder stones.

I have had pretty bad gas/bloat/trapped gas after my fundo surgery.... I even get it in my back- I am not kidding----
Gaviscon chewables help me with this- I am a long time sufferer- it will make you burp or get a nice gas flow :-)  but then hopefully get relief. I take Tagamet also..... Zelnorm was awesome for this but it has been taken off the market/ (gets things moving south if you know what I mean)
Reglan is the only other rx med for this on the market but side effects make it intolerable for some-
Are you on any meds at all? For other things? Lots of rx meds cause stomach upset- if you have early morning medicines- or midday you may be only sipping a bit of water instead of a full glass which will then move everything to the lower intestine for good digestion.

try to keep upright after late meals/ snacks- If you have to take late night meds try only a few saltines and believe it or not water even stirs up my burps late at night so drink all that water with meds as early as possible and keep moving----- It helps to go to bed when all your food is digested-

hello, how long have you been experiencing this? if it persists for more than a week and over the counter ant-acid medication like mylanta doesnt help you, then see your gp and ask for these breath tests; fructose malabsorption, lactose, glucose, lactulose and gluten intolerances, cheers.
