I had a three and a half hour laproscopic removal of my gall bladder in August 2015. I began running again, and shortly found some back pain. I'm 77, and have always run road races, including just before my surgery, I had an x-ray, and the techonologist said with surprise "You've got metal in your back." The radiologist's report said arthritis with no other diagnosis. He was good enough to check MRIs which showed no metal, but said that there could be metal in my lower intestine, or food that looked like metal. Not being a chewer of tinfoil or pin balls, I was surprised. We just went to Florida for a vacation, and the security check showed metal in my lower body with all change, keys, etc. in the tray. We'll find out if it is an issue on the way back home in an hour. I'm taking two mile runs, but there is always some concern at the start, and pain if I ever catch my foot when running or walking. The lower left hip (Slightly shorter leg, but a lift in my shoes to compensate) is often painful as well. Thoughts?
