Is there a name for this sickness?.... why did it start all of the sudden? I've been researching this thing and nobody seems to know... finally I read something that made sense. I thought I was having a heart attack a couple of times!!

It happens after I eat something,... and usually after I work out it goes away... everything feels better when am working out. Its like its forcing the burping out.... burping it all out makes it all better.

I've been with this for a couple of years now.

See my post below from another page...I have had all of your issues along with many other people out there. Obviously, always have the heart checked first, but You seem to have the symtoms that many of us have and I'm sure that you will be fine if you can better understand your problem.

After 8 years of all of these multiple symptoms described by many above... multiple ER Visits, Heart tests (all normal) etc, I have become a real pro at all this stuff. As scary as it is at times, I now know that I am not going to die!

Unending Burping, chest pains of all sorts, back pains, heart palpitations, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, shooting pains to the heart, arms and legs, tingling, shortness of breath, dizzy and light headed, huge chest anxiety and, intense stomach tightness like I'm going to explode, Regurgitating  etc..etc.At least they don't all happen at the same time!

Here are some of the causes: overeating, hangovers, late night eating, caffeine, cigars, carbonation, alcohol (usually the day after) juices, fruits, tomato sauce, fatty or fried foods, chocolate, spicy foods, popcorn, excessive weight, stress, red wine, coffee, tea etc. Some times it will happen with none of the above! Always the worst later at night in bed.

If you can limit these items...it might get better. Weight loss is by far the best remedy for me. When I dropped a good chunk of weight it totally disappeared! If I could keep the weight off it would be great.

I have seen a dozen stomach doctors and have found that many of these symptoms are the result of Gerd or Acid reflux disease. Unfortunately they all talk to you like you are out of your mind. Why does everyone have the same symtoms, yet the docs seem to be clueless. One doc told me that they were esophageal spasms caused by Acid reflux. The acid is splashed up the esophagus and causes our bodies to go into a state of shock. I must admit he makes the most sense. Especially considering the acid reducers rarely solve the big problem. When it was real bad, he prescribed Limbitrol which is a muscle relaxer designed to relax the esophagus muscle. It is used for this specific reason.

What do you know when I first used it 5 years ago...all my problems disappeared instantly!!!!

This was after years of intense pain, suffering and constant fear. The problem was that it made me a bit tired. The more consistently I took it the better I was and began using 1/2 and 1/4 doses so I didn't get too sleepy. Now I just save it for the real bad episodes! I hear that there are other brands available that might be better. You will also need to take one of the prescription meds: nexium, prilosec, protonix etc.

I could go on forever and would be happy to share other symptoms and remedies, but most of all you just need to realize that you are not going to die! Just keep on burping and it should help out a little. 2 Shots of alcohol also help me (you can drink it slowly), but too much will only make it worse in the morning. The alcohol relaxes the esophagus muscle which causes the problem. The symptoms are quite wide and varied...As my present doctor described it to me...We have thousands of tiny nerves in our chest that run all over the body and acid reflux will cause them to go absolutely haywire!

Hang in there and just try to relax!!!! I'd be happy to help out however I can.
