Hi Everyone,

Just a message for people with excessive burping visiting this forum:
in my case it turned out to be caused by Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth Syndrome (also called sibo). This in turn was caused by the antibiotics I took to treat pneumonia a month before sibo started...
I found this after searching the internet for a loooong time and I
hope this post helps people searching for an answer as to why they
keep burping!

Dear GoldFishy222!

I am having EXACTLY the same symptoms right now that you described here three years ago! Excessive burping at night (about 40 burps per minute) and no other symptoms. I only get about 3 to 4 hours sleep per night and this has been going on for almost three weeks now. (The burping gets worse when I lie down, that's why I can't sleep.)
By the way it all started after I took three different antibiotics to cure pneumonia last month. Not sure if those could have been the cause...

I'm really curious to hear from you whether you found out what was causing it in your case? Did it go away?

Thanks, Eveline

Don't despair, I feel yucky too :) And it is tiring too: I myself have this so called 'burping' for a very long time. It is not a 'disease', I didnt' have any health problems when it has happened, neither I have now. It is a body-changes, body is intelligent, it releases anything which is no longer needed. I couldn't find a way to get rid of this 'air release' , if you did - then please share with  me & others.

A deep breathing will help you a lot - a deep tummy one. It may not stop it, but will help in a process of release and will accelerate transition. Most people cannot correctly breath, including myself - I am re-learning it now. If you'll do observations of yourself - you would notice some positive changes over time in your being.

What also will help you is a change of diet for a more lighter one, I myself from this new 2010 year has stopped consuming any lower vibration substances like eating meat etc. I used to be a vegetarian in a past, so it doesn't frighten me anymore.
Be well GoldFishy :)

P.S. I recommend you to read a books of Anastasia (Ringing Cedars of Russia) by Vladimir Megre, it doesn't directly deal with burping issue but it'd give you a whole picture of the changes taking place, here is a link: www.ringingcedars.co.nz

Thanks for your response.  I've had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and both came up clear.  So there blaming all of my symptoms on IBS.  So far nothing I've tried has stoped the burping...

I remember my husbands co-worker started complaining about alot of burping and burping and it took a couple years to diagnosis and she ended up having crohn's disease. I really don't know exactly all her symptoms but i do remember the burping. She had alot of stomach problems before they finally figured it out. Don't mean to scare you, hopfully it's nothing!
