I was actually having an ultrasound on my gallbladder when they found the hemangioma. It really scared me when they told me. Thankfully my cardiologist (who treats me for high blood pressure) sat and explained everything about hemangiomas to me, in laymans terms I might add. LOL So that helped alot. I am lactose intolerant and use lactaid milk. It taste just like regular milk. I also suffer from IBS, I have had it for over 15 years. Stress is one of the worse things. It can cause a flair up real fast. My GI doctor told me to learn to walk away from any stressful situation and come back to it when you are better able to handle it. It has worked really well for me. Of course there are times when you can't walk away, but I have managed to deal with it. Have you thought of having your ovaries removed? Wouldn't that help, or are you too young?
what made them look at your liver in the ct scan? i was wondering bc i have had issues w/ having jundice before..i have pcos..and back before i was diagnosed w/ it, i had been to several gastro. doctors..nothing except they said i had a slight case of jundice and ibs?! i didn't have all the symptoms of ibs too..but i figure w/ all the issues w/ pcos..i changed my eating habits, got a nutritionist to help me out...had lost 15 lbs in 8 mths..w/ little to no exercise. just eating right helped alot of issues..
Thank you for your post. I was just worried because I read that elevated hormones, which I get from having polycystic ovary syndrome, increase the risk of liver disease. I appreciate your post and it takes away some of my worry. Thank you again.
I too have a liver hemangioma, it is less then 1cm, they will keep track of it every 6 months. My GI doctor said they do nothing until it gets to 5cm. It can be removed safely. I don't believe your cyst has anything to do with it, it is something that you can be born with and is usually not found until they do an ultrasound. Just make sure they keep checking the hemangioma, as it seems to be growing in a fast period of time, they should be doing the ultrasound every 3 months instead of every 6 months. The name of your hemangioma is hepatic hemangioma. It is a non-cancerous tumor consisting of dilated blood vessels. You can actually have quite a few of them at one time, but they do nothing until they get to at least 5cm. Not unless it is interfering with other organs.
Good luck!
