Upper middle abdominal pain for 4 days

I have this constant sharp pain in my upper mid abdomen. I did go to the doctor where he only looked at my gallbladder then sent me home. The pain has not gone away and i am concerned. It does  get worse after I eat, and when I lie on my stomach it does go away. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
