Stomach noise

I am a healthy male age 39 and my stomach will make gurgling noises all the time, but mostly when I am laying in bed at night.  I have never been tested for IBS or lactose intolerance but don't believe a specific food or drink sets it off.  I have tried warm 7up to see if that will quite it down with no positive results.  What would be some possible causes for the noises?  Could stress be a cause?

Thanks for the response.  For me it doesn't matter if I am full or on an empty stomach.  I am occasionally constipated but it doesn't coincide with the noises and I occasionally have diarrhea/loose stools, but I associate that with my diet at the time.  I don't have any pain or cramping with the noise, it is more of an annoyance than anything else.  I am just curious as to what could be causing it.  I am leaning towards stress, but thought I would toss it out in this forum to see if anyone else is experiencing it too and what might be a solution.

Hi Paul,
Yes, I get that too sometimes with stress.
Are you full and maybe a little constipated?
Sometimes I take a mild lax that works right away here.
It reliefs the gas and I sleep well.
Drop me a line here, or better, drop me a note.
Talk to you soon,
Matt
