So a little background information, I was bulimic for many years, from around age 12 till age 23, with a few years of recovery in there. I’ve been recovered for over a year now. At the end of February I had what my doctor thought was a stomach virus, with really bad stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting. I got over that in a few days, but the stomach pain lingered and I lost my appetite for a while and it hasn’t come back fully. I’ve lost weight unintentionally (though with history of an eating disorder sometimes it’s hard to gauge if there was any triggers). My stomach pain flares up just about every week and it’ll be painful enough that I have to take a tums or just rest until it goes away, sometimes it’ll be accompanied by sweating or pain somewhere else like my back. I’ve also had chest pain but not like burning, it was on my left side of my chest and hurt while driving enough that I had to pull over. And I’ve had other things like increased teeth sensitivity despite using sensodyne, bad taste in my mouth, and shortness of breath that lasted over a week and some coughing (thought to be allergies and stress). I was tested for Covid since I’m an essential worker and couldn’t go back to work since I had coughing and shortness of breath and that was negative, as expected. And my doctor thinks I should see a gastroenterologist but with the virus going around she thinks I should wait. My family has a history of needing gallbladder removal. and also today I noticed my stool was dark in color instead of a usual light color. I feel unwell overall, but I don’t like to take medication unless I know the problem and it’s to help treat the source rather than the symptoms. But lately I’ve been turning to tums and I tried Prilosec for a bit.
