PAIN IN CHEST 6WKS AFTER GALLBLADDER SURGERY

I am a 29 yr old female. I had my gallbladder removed 6 wks ago due to poor function and stones. For the past 3 days I have had pain in my chest/sternum into the lower part of my throat. I have never had any problems with heartburn or acid reflux. My question is : could this be acid reflux? does acid reflux come on so suddenly? I went to bed with no pain and woke up at 2 a.m. feeling like someone took a boot to my chest and I feel it straight through into my back.
Could having my gallbladder removed have an affect on heartburn/acid reflux??

Thank you for your time in reading this! It is so much appreciated!!!

I haven't  heard back from you to see how you are doing with the nexium.  Let me know if you don't mind.

Thanks for your opinion and I will definately ask about the protonix. I feel better today, but something isn't right still. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. It is much appreciated!

I had my gallbladder removed about 5 years ago and 2 days after my surgery i ended up in the emergency room with sever pain under my right rib cage that went up towards my chest i couldnt hardly breath.  ended up being a bile leak and bile has leaked into my abdominal cavity.  After i had a stent put in to release the bile i had extremely bad heart burn, i took protonix and have been on it every since.

Maybe the nexium will get you fixed right up.  I have had 3 surgeries after my gall bladder removal to remove scar tissue and I am scheduled to see my gastroenterologist in a couple weeks to about other problems other than scar tissue.  I could write a great deal more here but space prohibits me from doing so.  Let me know how the nexium works.

I thank you for your insight! I am thinking now that it probably is acid reflux...atleast that is what it feels like to me. I have perscriptions of nexium and whatnot so i suppose it won't hurt to take them...i have held on to them for 6 mts now guess it's time to put them to use! thanks again and have a safe holiday weekend!!!!

Have you thought about gastritis?  I was told that I had this but it was a mild case.  Doctor said the symptoms were similiar to what you described.

I was told after my surgery that acid reflux could be a problem by my surgeon.  I made a post to you earlier but it apparently didn't come thru.  Hope you soon feel better.
