Please research cyclic vomiting syndrome. Also, acid medications can cause heart failure such as mine. Just a simple warning.

H-pylori was probably not completely eradicated.
You son might benefit from "quadruple therapy" but also he needs to follow an anti-candida protocol. Antifungals are not enough. Wide-spectrum Probiotics with Lactobacillus- and Bifidobacterium- antifungals AND a strict anti-candida diet are necessary.
If these steps do not help improve, then you need to look into the SCD program, specially if Chron's or something similar is suspected.
It is a natural approach and it has helped thousands of patients in similar situations as your son, lead a normal life.
My daughter who has Ulcerative Colitis & IBS follows a modified SCD program, has been able to resume her life again.
Drugs (usually immuno-suppressants) usually don't cure nor reverse such disorders, just help with inflammation and other symptoms
The budesonide was a shot in the dark, in the absence of a firm diagnosis
for Crohn's, more like a trial to see if he would improve.
The esomeprazole is normally part of the triple therapy to treat H.Pylori, along with 2 antibiotics, usually clarithromycin and amoxicillin,
however the prescribing doctor might have prescribed it it for a different
reason (suspected ulceration?)
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Niko
Did they do a stool test to check for yeast overgrowth and parasites? How about food allergies?
