Lower Abdominal Pain + other symptoms

Hello everyone.

I've had a series of strange issues with lower-central abdominal pain starting just over a year ago and happening again (for the 3rd time now) last friday.

The first time it happened (little over a year ago), it began as cramping like pains which lasted for a day but the pain was only 3-4/10 and went away... then came back the next day and got much worse to a 7/10. At this point I thought I had appendicitis and went to the hospital and x-rays ruled this out. I went home, and was better after leaving the hospital. I ate a solid meal and that was it. No other symptoms at all. The pain would last a total of 36 hours approx.

Fast forward to 2 months ago, I get cold-like symptoms (sneezing, coughing, fatigue) for a couple days. Then on the 3rd day I wake up in the morning and have the same pain (around 8am) but all the other symptoms are gone. I then vomit twice in a short span of time and go to the doctor. She says it's the stomach flu and to go on a all liquid diet for the rest of the day. The pain goes away after leaving the doctors and I feel better after that. No diarrhea, just vomitting twice + the pain which was 7-8/10. It lasted for a total of 3 hours. No fever either.

Now fast forward to last friday. I feel a little odd in my lower abdomen after leaving the bathroom in the morning. Then slowly throughout the day I feel a bit of discomfort in my lower abdomen. During the day I had mcdonalds for lunch and felt a bit queezy after that... but anyway by night-time I was feeling nauseous and the pain was again a 7/10. Additionally I was feeling very weak/sleepy. I then vomitted 7 times in a span of few hours until falling asleep...

But then I woke up the next day to the following symptoms:

- extreme headache, lightheadedness, extreme fatigue (more fatigue than I've ever felt), slight aching in my body

However, no diarrhea and no apparent fever. My blood pressure was taken twice which was 100% normal, while my heart rate was in the 120s (my normal being low 60s).

So I went on a liquid diet as I had 0 appetite. The next night I had my first solid meal. However that day I also got extreme neck pain (which didn't get better till the day after that, the monday). Some minor diarrhea was present on the sunday/monday which was likely due to consuming large amounts of liquid.

So at this point I'm puzzled because I have no idea what's causing this.

Yesterday I noticed a small rash on my upper left leg near the groin area as well.

But as of today I'm nearly 100% fine (very slowly improving in how I feel since satuday till yesterday).

So more pain about the pain that occurs: It's a very dull aching type of pain and it is in my lower central abdomen. The first and third time it started off minor and got much worse while the 2nd time it suddenly hit me hard as I woke up.

My background history:

In 2002 when I was 9 years old I was diagnosed with mild esophagitis after having an endoscopy done down my throat following stomach bleeding/vomitting.

From 2006-2010 I had esophageal spasms which happened infrequently (once every few weeks to few months). They would last about an hour and the pain would be about 8-9/10. I was given nitro glycerine to treat it, but I never got them again since.

My diet:

Lately in the last 6-8 months I've consumed very large amounts of fast food, sometimes 5-6 times a week. I also use a lot of vitamin supplements and protein supplements (as I'm a bodybuilder/work out 6 times a week). I've cut all of this out now to see how it goes.

Additional information:

I've noticed no signs of bleeding and no fevers when all of this has happened.

Would appreciate any ideas as to where I could go with this or if my symptoms (or lack of symptoms) can rule out things like crohn's or ulceritive colitis.

Thanks.

I think that unless this starts happening more frequently, there isn't a next step that needs to be done.

So what do you think my next step should be?

I'm now scared I got H.plyroi or something... but overall I'm just scared of getting that pain again/throwing up.

Good, I'm glad you are doing better.  No, this doesn't seem too odd to me, I don't think that these repeated events are related to any chronic condition.

Thanks for the response.

My GI symptoms were limited to that one night (7 days ago). The other symptoms began the morning after.
Currently since 2 days ago I've been pretty much perfect, I'm just scared it'll happen again.

As for the swollem lymph nodes, my neck looked and felt fully normal, so no.

Does this seem like a very odd case? :S

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Are you currently having any GI symptoms?  Can you feel any swollen lymph nodes in your neck?

Also, just letting you know that an x-ray cannot rule out an appendicitis; you need a CT scan or ultrasound to do this (however I don't think this is your current problem).

Also forgot to add that I go to the bathroom about 3 times a day normally so my bowel movements are absolutely okay.
