UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT GAIN, lower abdominal pain, no hunger ever hurts to eat

Much like the other submissions, I have had over the past year and change severe unexplained weight gain, distension, lower abdominal pain, sometime right side pain, fatigue, pain while eating, no appettite or thirst, hard to sleep (probably anxiety from all this)..had most of the tests waiting on MRI of pelvis and abdomen. If nothing truns up most likely Drs will want to do diagnostic laperoscopy. Gynecologically i checked out fine. What am I missing here what stnes have been unturned before I hit the operating table?

Some of the things you're describing are consistent with individuals I see who have food intolerances, as screwy as that might sound, although most people don't understand how big an impact food intolerances can have. There are some decent food panel tests that functional medicine docs now use to screen for a variety of substances using IgG and IgA antibodies. However, if you screen for gluten (wheat, rye and barley), consider using an IgA fecal antibody test. It's often a lot more accurate than the blood-based studies. And a gluten allergy (which is what I'm wondering about with you) is important to isolate. The long-term side-effects can be very damaging.

Thank you for your thorough and heartfelt response. I really appreciate it. I just received mt MRI results in mail although I keep missng the Dr to review it. We are playing telephone tag. Tomorrow I will post what it said. I read it and googled immediately all the notes the radiologist wrote on it. Seems like main organs (kidneys, gallbladder are okay- oh yes I had sonograms on these areas months ago) but there is definitely SOME findings on this letter that leads me to believe they found SOMETHING..
To address your letter: Yes, the fatigue makes me feel like I need to sleep and there have been times where I feel faintlike or that I must sit before I fall down.YOU are the first person to bring that up although I have told EVERY DR. about that. It does not appear that I have food allergies and no I do not know of any auto immune deficiencies or disease in family. We are pretty much open books so I think I would already know that. I don't really have any "brain fog".  There was once or twice where I woke up with rashes on my stomach but they went away after a few days.
After one year + dealing with all my medical issues, over the last few days things got worse. I thew up and my desire to eat is almost 0 on a 1-10 scale. It hurts so much to eat. However it doesnt feel that much better when I dont. When I eat the pain increases but it never ever dissipates even when I dont. It hurts in my stomach when I walk, sneeze, get up out of chair, turn in bed etc...On top of everything else......I found out I was pregnant (didnt have a clue) and then a few days later lost the baby. This happened 3 weeks ago. I couldnt believe with all this pain and problems my body would even get pregnant. I am 42 and married for 3 years (first marriage ) and I discounted trying to have a baby this past year as I LOOK 9 months pregnant and feel so full 24/7. Couldnt imagine putting a baby in there and having to eat properly for 2. I am getting old:) so this whole area of having a baby has been put on the shelf for over a year and all I hear is TICK TICK TICK. The stress of time passing for this reason alone is enough to want to make me jump off a brifge (not really just an expression dont worry I am not a danger to myself). However, I admit over all this time I did have some BAD thoughts which seem to pop in and out of my head without trying. I have told the Drs that too.
I have had the exact symptoms I describe  2-3X before,  over last 10 years and the result was a finding of a stomach blockage, a gastric bezoar to be exact. I though for sure it was back now because my symptoms are carbon copies, but alas no blockage which has lead me on a wild goose chase to find an answer. The hopelessness is setting in and that is the worst part..ti have no hope. But I use whatever energy I have to push forward although the days  weeks months are al melting into one.

To address your letter: No I havent had gastroscope (no one ever mentioned that) I must look into that now that you alerted me. In October they found low thyroid and nodules (though I had my answer) and they were going to do biopsy. On second sonogram weeks later the nodules on the right disapperaed and the one on left was too small to aspirate. I was shocked. They went from talking biopsies to the nodules gone. Sounded so bizarre to me. Have been on synthoid since MAY 2012. I dont feel any different maybe a little less sluggish than before but still so TIRED and energy-less. I have had ulcers years ago when I worked in high stress fields and I have had H pylori as well. They dont seem to be in the picture this time.

Any rashes or blotches? Any joint discomfort or body ache? Any small changes in bowel habits? Does the fatigue hit 'hard' and make you feel like you need to sleep, or sit down before you fall down? Any 'brain fog?' Any auto-immune issues in your family? Any food intolerance issues? Anyone in immediate family that has a 'touchy stomach', or spends longer than expected time in the bathroom with bowel issues (if it's not discussed)? Any peripheral neuropathy, or transient tingling in limbs? Do you feel 'stiff' or as if you have very tight muscles and tissues? Is the weight gain 'all over' the body? No change in diet?

Have you had gastroscopic? Exam....to see into stomach to check for ulcer and that exam checks duodenal sphincter also..
Bad mojo stomach pain can perhaps be ruled out before laparoscope..
Good luck keep us posted..
Previous posts that suggested thyroid was right on for me..I have thyroiditis and low thyroid...weight gain, constipation led up to that diagnosis...mine is result of autoimmune diseases i have...And possible stomach pain I have might be h.pylori and I too am not wanting stomach gastroscopic ..
I already take opiates for neuropathy pain so if my stomach pain bad cannot imagine what it would be if i was not on dreaded opiates..
My heart goes out to you..if any any black tarry or red blood in stool u have to get to er..best wishes and support..

One thing that would cause fatigue, weight gain and slow digestion is Thyroid Disease, Request Free T3 Free T4 and TSH  Underactive Thyroid causes a sharp decrease in metabolism, which also slows the digestive system and in turn also causes foods to stay in the digestive tracy longer than it should, this causes gas, bloat and constipation, The other thing that would not cause weight gain or fatigue, but would cause stomach pain while eating and bloat.gas and excess stomach acid would be HPylori Bacteria, There is a blood test provided by a Gastroenterologist lab order that could determine this.  Good Luck FTB4
