awesome awesome.. well i'm glad you don't have anything serious as far as we know.. I guess one idea is to go to the grocery store and buy some gas-x and see if that nukes the problem
well maybe embarassing but eh trust me a $1500 ct scan bill or possible surgery and avoiding all that? I'd be outside "ssssiiiing in the rainn.. i'm siiinging in the rain.. whaaat a wonnderful feeling lahlahlalah"
so yeah i'd be super happy if I was you. So get out there and enjoy it :) Glad to hear you're ok!
Cheerio (and yeah a simple xray wouldn't be a bad idea..you could just call it a health checkup)
Well i never went back to the doc, it seems the pain has eased up , its almost like a flare up of some sort or jjust gas getting up under my ribs and back. either way i feel kinda stupid now thinking it might be something bad lol when in fact all it probley was ,was gas lol . but it lasted for 2wks this time most of the times when i do get it , it last for maybe a wk . then goes away but comes back , been like that for 3 yrs now . food doesnt irraite it , my bowels seem to be fairly normal . so it just makes me wonder if thats all it is is GAS lol . anyways thank you all for your response and for your concerns . if it does keep up though i will go back and just ask him to do an x-ray to make sure there isnt anything there .my ribs are still sore and maybe it is muscle too withthem . but they arent any where near as bad . very tolerible . again ty all
yeah for sure a ct scan would rule out many things from your spleen to bone/structure problems.. a colonoscopy would look at the colon to see if there was diverticulitis or something like that causing problems..but sometimes that can be picked up on ct scan as well...but again you're not having IBS issues so yeah... I think some image/scan would help big time and only takes like 5 min. to do a ct scan...
the pain pills are only masking the problem.. another idea is if it is diverticulitis.. usually you go on a liquid only diet avoiding fiber...you could try that for a week while you wait..usually you do clear liquids so like..jello...soups.. nothing that requires chewing..hopefully it's nothing serious ... but like I said you'd have IBS issues so *shrugs*
(your doctors sound like my doctors..not a clue, take a sugar pill and you'll feel better sort of thing :S hang in there)
Well so far it hasnt gone away or gotten better , i feel as though the naproxen doesnt really help any , and the lortabs just mask the pain because as soon as the lortabs run out my system the pains starts up and even when im on it the pain is still felt slightly .and the lump feeling is a constant , last night i was laying on my belly playing on my laptop and i could feel a ball feeling on my left side more towards the waistline right up under my ribs . i know something is there but i just dont know what , like everyone said it could be several diff. things !!!! Anyways i will give it until next wk and if i still feel that lump feeling and the pain not going away and the pressure , ill make another apt and demand they do a x-ray or c-scan or something , i know its not in my head dang it !!!!!!!! because how can feel that and it be all in your head ?
If your GP says you have inflammation there should be a reason for it. I would ask for a referral to a rheumatologist.
Thank you for your advice , and wow so sry i hope everything is ok now . or is getting better. like i said its worse when im sitting feels like my ribs are being squished with something else . and the back in the lower back (flank area ) and wraps around the whole ribcage . so far i still have pain but ive been only taking the imflammatorys for a day so far took a lortab lastnight and it just knocked my butt right out and of course didnt feel a thing lol but i did wake up sweating like mad . i noticed ive been doing that freq. lately . but i gotta give it time to work i guess , so we will see by next wk !
it's true..gallbladder can mimick a whole ton of other things..no patient has the same symptoms if you're having gallbladder issues.. but hopefully the pain/inflammation meds work
I am new to this, so don't know quite how it works yet and sent you a message. But for everyone else, to see I think this is the way,
Get a HIDA scan. I came two weeks from a feeding tube before they figured out I had gall sludge. My gall bladder was functioning at 13%...Not good. I had pain like I was wearing a waist belt that was too tight and it radiated to my back. My abdomen was also tender to the touch.
Get that done, or talk to your Dr about it before you try to mask the pain. The gall bladder will worsen without you realizing. Good luck!!
hey glad you went to a doctor that..will help you at least somewhat. Well he's an expert so yeah must be just ribs but if you don't feel better after the anti-inlammatory treatment....i'd uhh.. go back for sure and hopefully they'll test more.
BUT anyway hope this works, hope you get healed and tell your husband to stop punching you in the ribs (jk)
sry i made a mistake , the doc precribed me naproxen ( anit inflammatory ) and lortabs for the pain !!!
