I am new to this site. I am 64 yrs old. I had a nissen wrap in 2006 had 2 bad years after, with dumping syndrome, then maybe 3 good years. The last few years I have had nothing but stomach health problems. I ended up in the ER having chest pains so much i thought i was having a heart attack. It wasn't it was reflux. then i ended up in the ER 6 weeks ago with such pain radiating chest to pelvic. They did tests, some abnormal labs found a loop in my small bowel and wanted me to see my GI doc in the next week or two and repeat barium swallow. Meanwhile I contacted GI doc and couldn't see her for 3 mths she was all booked up I was told. meanwhile, my chest pain and burning continued, and felt my food was sitting there in my chest ready to explode. She put me on EES told me I had gastroparesis from the nissen and wait for another barium test which they couldn't do for another week, I suffer with chest pressure and burning along with yellow burning bile stools, GI doc is full aware. She mentioned on the phone I didn't need an endoscopy, i felt I did. I even contacted the surgeon who did the nissen and they wouldn't see me unless I had a GI referral. My family is very concerned now and wants me to call another GI doc for another opinion. I continue feeling horrible, liquid diet for weeks. I have no answers and sit here worried, if I go the the ER again I will just get shrugged off on what's going on. I have always been very healthy until the nissen. Does anyone know if there is a reversal surgery for this? I ask docs and get no answer. I would rather die of barretts than live the rest of my golden years like this. The last 2 years I have had to sit home not go out with my friends or grands because of stomach issues getting me. I am calling a new GI doc's office tomorrow for another opinion.
Is there anyone living in the DFW area with similiar issues?
