Why can't they figure out what's wrong with me?

Hi,

I'm 14 years old. I'm a girl. And my name is Annabelle. About a year and a half ago I went to the hospital with CRIPPLING right side pain. It was sudden, not gradual. And it felt like someone was stabbing me over and over again. The pain lasted for about 15 minutes then subsided. When I got to the hospital they ran blood tests, urine tests. They both came back fine. They did an ultrasound, and a CT scan. Both came back fine. The only thing they could tell me was to take some Motrin or Tylenol. So, I went back home. About 6 months later I was back in the ER with more pain, except on the left side. They did all the tests again and they found SOME residual fluid around the left ovary. So, that led them to the conclusion of a ruptured ovarian cyst. They referred me to an OB/GYN. I went to the GYN and they put me on Birth Control. I was religious about taking it and was doing a great job except for the fact that I bled 20 days out of each month. So, my mom and I decided to self medicate and take me off of the pill. I was back in the hospital 8 months later. With more left side abdominal pain. They brushed it off as another ovarian cyst, even though they didnt find any evidence that there had been one there. So, I went back to the GYN about 4 months after which was about 3 weeks ago and they did another ultrasound and they found an ovarian cyst on my left ovary. But I was at the beginning of my cycle and guess what, they put me back on birth control. So, now I'm back on birth control. But anywho, yesterday (im at the end of my cycle now...literally it ended yesterday) I had crippling RIGHT side pain again. I couldn't walk, it was hard to breathe without it hurting, I couldn't move. I had to be wheeled to my schools clinic in a wheelchair. I was crying. And when they asked me on the scale from 1-10 I said 100. When they asked me compared to a year and a half ago, it was 1000 times worse. So, I went to my pediatrician and she sent me BACK to the hospital. They ran all the tests they ran last time. No evidence of an ovarian cyst, no evidence of appendicitis, NOTHING. My mom is confused, I'm confused. It hurt SO bad and NOBODY knows whats wrong with me. In fact, my right side STILL HURTS. It's like an achy feeling. But, we got a referral to a GI doctor. So, I dont know what they are going to tell me. I just need to know if this has happened to anyone else. And if so, what did it turn out you had? If they found what was wrong with you.

I think the Gastroenterologist will be able to tell you what this is.  Ovarian cysts normally just have to be watched and often go away on their own.

I had the CT Scan with contrast. And i'll definitely bring the kidney stones idea up with my doctor.

You should get checked for kidney stones. My husband had bad pain and we went to the ER and was told he pulled muscles. We followed up with our family Dr and it turned out to be kidney stones.I hope this helps.
