colon cancer

please help me I am very worried. 12 months ago I started getting right hand side abdomen pain and a very sore itchy anus. I have always suffered with heart burn so take omeprazole. and always had very lose stools 3 maybe four times a day.
I had and ultra sound and CT scan that showed no problems had all bloods taken they were normal. the pains have got worse now. Now and again over this last year I have became very tired and weak for 2 or 3 days then fine with my normal energy. then bloating  and gassy. but that settles but the dull pain in my right side keeps stabbing every few minutes. I now have lower back pain and aching hips that relives by arching myself backwards. My stool have became hard and I only go once a day now or every other day. there is a lot of mucus and small amount of blood now and again  my doctor seems very reluctant to send me for a colonoscopy I am so scared  I am a male 42yr old

Lack of physical work and good diet could have been the reason for your this condition

hi thank you for your help I feel so much more relaxed.
I have started looking for a small intestine bacteria overgrowth diet on line today and got some probiotics from my health store today there called acidophilus 20 billion going to do the diet for the course of the antibiotics.
spoke to my doctor today asked him to prescribe me high dose rifaximin he point blank refused saying its my gallbladder even though although the ct scan and ultrasound showed no problems there think I will changing doctors but don't want to move while waiting for the colonoscopy once again I would like to thank you for your time and information

its probably the antibiotics that are causing the constipation. If it is a bacterial overgrowth the antibiotics should clear that up and you'll feel better within days or a week (usually) after finishing the 7-10 day dose. But, you wont really know it because youre going to be all constipated and stuff because of it to. You should take a high dose of probiotics as soon as youre done with antibiotics. and hopefully after a few weeks youll feel better.

sorry to bother you again but you seem to know what you are taking about.
if it is a bacterial infection and these antibiotics are doing the job and that's what all the mess is coming from me any idea how long it takes before I am healed and how long should I go without a full bowel movement

I have started taking the antibiotics on Friday night the pains have eased of the gurgling is still present and wind is still present I haven't had a stool since Thursday. I am having the urge to go when I try I just break wind and  all this yellow brownie goo runs out and maybe one tiny stool sorry if I have gone into to much detail i think your right about the infection but am mystified why almost a year ago i could walk into a doctors with a very sore itchy anus and him not arrange a camera. i am hoping to have a normal stool soon then that will put my mind a rest i am still eating my normal amount of food with no weight lose just keep thinking have the antibiotics eased the pain of and the problem is still inside but i spoke to a friend who said antibiotics don't stop pain only pain killers will so hopefully after five years of gut ache and a itchy anus tiredness dizzy spells  i am finally cured but you're right why are doctors so blind to this problem and why does it take them so long to look a the symptoms and think we need to act fast just in case its serious thank you for all your advise i hope you're well and i will go and get the thing you said thanks again

The CT scan and ultrasound would have shown tumors, gallstones, or other abnomalities which is why i dont think cancer should be a concern. From your symptoms i would think it is for sure digestion related. Doctors know next to nothing about this part of the body, trust me, i know. Ive had digestive issues since 1999 and still arent back to normal, but i do what i can.
Things you want to rule out are celiac, crohns, colitis, small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), yeast overgrowth, and parasite.
A colonoscopy would be a good idea, as well as a stool test. And make it a comprehensive stool test, which is one that tests samples of your stool from multiple days.
I also suggest trying to find a homeopathic doctor that specializes in gastrointestinal diseases, and a nutritionist that does the same.
If your doctor has given you antibiotics, this will really only help if you have a bacterial overgrowth, if not, it will do more harm than good. They shoudl have given you a breath test to check for SIBO, if they didnt, you need to find a better doctor. Doctors these days hand out antibiotics like they are candy and will cure everything...THEY DONT.
Unless you are 100% sure you have a BACTERIAL infection of some sort, taking antibiotics is useless.
Your gut is full of good bacteria (flora) which helps keep everything in order. Its keep the bad bacteria at bay, as well as keeping the yeast in our body from growin too much. When you take antibiotics it kills the good and bad bacteria and leaves your gut all sorts of ****** up. This is why most ppl will suffer from consitpation or diarrhea while on antiobiotics. you may also experience thrush (yeast overgrowth that covers the tongue in a whitish fuzz and causes dry mouth, metalic tastes, and other issues). I stress to only take antibiotics when called for. In your case, I doubt it is.
I strongly recommend you go to a healthfood store and get a strong probiotic. Tell them your symptoms and they should be able to help you choose the right one for you. You can start with one that is 7-10 strains of good bacteria and 10-30 billions live cultures. Take this for a months and see if it helps. If it doesn't you made need one that is stronger. If you start getting diarrhea, you may need one that is not as strong.

thanks you for your reply
forgive me if I seem daft but I don't know a lot about all medical and health.
could a a food allergy cause these symptoms then I cut sugar and milk out and bread and did start feeling better my bloating has gone and my heartburn has gone too something I have suffered for for 20yrs with.
I am still eating my meals and I am not losing weight but my bowel movement have changed dramatically and I am still getting pains. my doctor has gave me antibiotics now without being to gross I am only doing tiny small stools with loads of yellowish slimy stuff when I press down on my right hand side just slightly in from my hip it hurts and the pain shoots up to the centre of my rib cage my back pain is really bad I am sure I can feel something there when I bend over thank you for your reply it means a lot

I wouldnt worry about colon cancer. From what you are saying it doesnt seem likely. My initial thought is that you have developed a food allergy. I suggest going to an allergy specialist and have them run a test.
Until then, try keeping a food journal of everything you eat and drink, as well as how you feel and bowel movements. See if you notice feeling bad after you eat certain types of foods.
Next, drink lots of water (60oz a day), increase fiber intake, get yourself a strong probiotic (7 strains of good bacteria and 10 billion or more live cultures). Hopefully this will help.
