colon pain after menstruation

Hi. March 2nd I had surgery to remove my left ovary. My Dr. said that I was full of scar tissue and he had to remove it to even get to anything. I had an emergency c-section in 1993, a tubal ligation in 1999 and that's obviously how I acquired the scarring. He also said that my my ovary was on top of my colon and stuck to it. I was off work for 6 weeks because I ended up getting 2 infections afterward. One in my eyes and an upper resp. infection. I have been back to work for 5 weeks now. I have had 4 menstrual cycles since surgery and as soon as it ends I have pain in my left side that I describe as a "flare" up because it's like something is throbbing in my side. My BM have been so different, for a while there was a lot of mucus when I went but I don't know if it is from straining or what. A week before this last cycle I had a different pain on my left side, it was more toward my navel, like I could feel a ball inside there. I work a very physical job and as I would bend I could feel it and then it went to constant for 2 days, even after I had a bowel movement. I get dizzy and have cramps in my left calf and I was very sick to my stomach until I started my period. I cannot eat a full meal w/out being miserable and all of a sudden I will have to use the bathroom and I will be in pain if I cannot go right at that moment, like I've been holding it for hours but have only minutes. The last time it hurt so bad that I had to stop on the way to the restroom, hold onto the couch and wait for pain to go, it made my face numb it was so bad. I will be seeing a GI next week but I feel like I am being a big baby. I am 34 yrs. old and healthy other than copd. I am wondering if it is just still healing. I am not very vocal with Drs. My PCP said it could be diverticulitus.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I guess I just find it hard "complaining" all the time about all of this as everyone in my family always just suffered, until they died literally. Just pushed it aside. So I find it hard, naturally, to even say anything. I am scheduled now to have a colonoscopy next Tue so I am praying for an answer. Thanks again!

You are not being a baby.  Be very truthful about what is happening.  Something may not be right from the surgery or maybe the surgery stress triggered something auto-immune.  Insist that they find an answer.

I also was very bloated when it felt like there was a "ball" in my stomach. I just kept getting more and more bloated.
