severe upper abdomen pain.

hi. my sister, age 13 is in severe pain since a month...her pain is mainly in the upper midline abdomen..initially she had episodes of chills with high fever arnd 103F..and thus was admitted to the hospital..she was checked for everything..typhoid,malaria,dengu,leptospirosis.,everything was normal..,just like d xray was normal. We even went for an ultrasound which reported minimal pleural effusion n minor spleomegaly and the CT showed axial and pleural lymphadenopathy. she was treated with ceftraixone n Linezolid both iv. also was given antacids and meftal for d pain..n was discharged. now again aftr a week, the abdominal pain episodes with fever have started. shes very week too now. the docs now look clueless...thus i request ur opinoin and sme differential diagnosis. really lookin forward. thanking you.

It doesn't sound like GERD to me because GERD wouldn't cause a fever.  I would recommend continuing to look into the axillary lymph nodes.

yes. he suspected it to be GERD..n gave her antacids n asked us to get a surgical opinion too n thus since her axillary lymph nodes are a bit inflammed,they want to get it biopsied n chked.
no diet change.nothing.no wtloss too.

Has she had any change in her bowel habits?  Has she had any changes in her diet?  Has she seen a gastroenterologist?

Yes. A contrast CT was performed.her appendix was normal.No gall bladder inflamation seen too. the cbc was also nomal just the ESR was a bit raised(28.,normal 2-13) with normal wbc's n platelets. even the urine reports are normal.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  DId she have contrast with her CT scan?  Was her appendix looked at specifically?  Has she had a CBC (complete blood count)?
