Digestive system issues... help!

I'm freaking out a little, because my family has a history of cancer in general... I haven't seen a doctor yet because my family doesn't have too much extra money, and they think it'll pass... So, onto the symptoms.

Firstly, not too long ago, I would have stomach pains upon awaking, very sharp. It was a stabbing pain a bit below the middle of my back, going all the way through to my stomach, and fading out, feeling kind of like hunger in the end. These problems have since gotten worse, and the pain increases after breakfast, mainly, when I stand up after I finish eating.

On top of that, I am having trouble going to the bathroom. No urinary problems... but when I try to pass solid waste, I can't, or only small amount of it come out at a time, and more gas than anything comes out.

There have been no recent radical changes in my diet, nor have I had a problem of a similar nature in the past.

6 days out of 10... still normal. I'm half-tempted to go off my pills to see if they fixed the problem from me just taking them now, but I feel that that would be a very bad idea... so I won't.

Update:

The medicine seems to be working. The pain is gone, but I feel weird after I eat sometimes... but we'll see if that doesn't straighten out. I still have about 8 days to see...

Another Update:

My doctor told me that she thinks that stomach acid is too strong, and is causing the pain when i get hungry. She gave me some prilosec otc, and told me to take one a day, and see how i feel in a week to 10 days...

I'm going to see my doctor at 2 PM. Hopefully, things will be resolved before the end of the week.

Things are getting worse now. It's currently 3:05 AM, I woke up 30min-an hour ago, writhing in agony, so I walked downstairs to my kitchen, doubled over, and got something to eat. Half of a sandwich later, the pain is at a very tolerable level. It is incredibly sharp when it presents, and I'm afraid to go back to sleep, because I don't want the pain to return all at once as it did before...

It might be some sort of food intolerance.  But seeing a doctor is a good idea.

Update:

The constipation has stopped, but The pain (though without the stab from the back) persists, and continues to worsen.

The pain occurs upon awakening in the morning, close to lunch time, somewhere in the ballpark of 3:00 PM, and it's really intense. I have no idea what it could be that makes it hurt worse when I'm hungry... but I will be seeing a doctor soon.

I'll see... I was just getting nervous... thoughts of stomach ulcers, cancer, and all kinds of other not-so-common answers. I tend to over-think things, but I'll see if I can get a professional opinion.

Though, last time, some doctor wanted me to get filters for my lights when I asked about sleep issues :X

Yes, it can happen where you have problems that start suddenly.  That's how my problems started.  I would say that is how constipated usually starts for most people, out of the blue.  Yes it could explain the stomach pain, constipation can cause many different kinds of pain of many different severities.  I would recommend making the changes I suggested and if it doesn't get better to see your doctor.

As I said before, no radical changes in my diet... I doubt that after 17 years of working correctly on a diet deemed appropriate for my age group, that I would spontaneously having problems... but, anyhow, I appreciate your input... but does that explain the stomach pain? Needless to say, I've never been constipated before, so I wouldn't know what it feels like...

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  You might be constipated.  I would try increasing your fiber intake, increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables, increase your water intake, and increase the amount of exercise you get.
