I have IBS and leak at night during my sleep, and believe me when I say that wearing "protection" to bed is a million times better then cleaning up a mess! Just get over the initial mental block of wearing something to bed (can be tough, especially in a relationship) and get some good sleep, it could always be worse!!!!

thanks for the info. but it really looks more like actual feces as if when a baby or toddler may deficate in a diaper(sorry so graphic) that's why I said diarrhea. it's like playdough (for lack of a better term) and not liqidy at all. do you suppose it's still the same as anal leakage?

This is usually a symptom of impaction of stool.  What happens is an amount of stool gets "stuck" and as a result, instead of new stool forming and pushing it through, it stays liquid and just flows around this impaction and it is actually anal leakage and not diarrhea.  Try taking some Miralax for a week or two to break this up. If this doesn't work try a stimulant laxative to get it moving.  This is a common problem often seen in children and young adults, but can happen to anyone.  This will also cause bloating.
