fainting during excercise

I haven't done a lot of exercise in the past few years. Recently, I joined a softball team for the first time in 5 years. The first practice that we had, we stretched, ran to the fence and back, and then threw the ball back and forth. Immediately following throwing, I felt very light-headed and sick to my stomach. I ended up vomiting. After sitting down for a bit, I felt much better and was fine for the rest of the day apart from getting very out of breath(I have asthma which I don't take medicine for, so this was not surprising). Today, we had our second practice. We did the same warm up drill, and following throwing, I again felt very light-headed and sick to my stomach. It was worse this time and my pulse was racing. I sat down in the field to try to recover. The next thing I knew, my team was around me panicking. I was on the ground. They say that my eyes were rolling back into my head. I assume that I passed out, because I don't remember lying down. Someone tried to sit me up, and I was immediately dizzy again so I laid back down until the dizziness passed. This all happened very quickly and afterwords I just felt a little weak. I drank down a bottle of water and sucked on some sunflower seeds and rejoined my team after about 5 minutes. I was fine again for the rest of the day. Could this be something serious or is it just because I haven't done any serious exercise in the past 5 years? I am overweight and have been doing a low calorie/low fat diet lately. I've also been trying to do more exercise; there is a walking track behind where I work and I've been trying to do a 3 mi walk at least once a week. I started softball as a way to get more exercise as well. I am terrified of needles, so I haven't been to a doctor since I was 17. I am 21 now. I have panic attacks when I go to the doctor, but I will go if it is absolutely necessary. Today was a little scary. Thank you for your time.

I also get lighthearded when I do intense aerobic exercise. I once biked up a hill in San Francisco and pushed myself too hard. At the top, I got off the bike because my heart was racing and the world was becoming brighter and dimmer at the same time. I ended up laying down on the sidewalk and resting for a while. I think you need to slowly increase your exercise level, not push so hard during warm up drills. The drills might be too intense for you. If it happens again, you should definitely slow down and rest...stop before you faint. Also, be sure you're well-hydrated before exercising.

Do you have low blood pressure? If so, you might be prone to fainting.

I think you should go to the doctor, you may be Diabetic, and need to make sure that the diet you are on is meeting your needs, until then though try eating like some crackers or something and a little water before practice and sees if it helps. But like I said go see the doctor ok, I hope all goes well :)
