Anal itch! :(

Hello!

I'm after some advice really to see if others have experienced this.

Back in November last year I noticed a mild itch in my anus (more or less inside and sometimes a little feeling of it round the edge). This only was noticeable when I walked! If I sat down the itch would go. It almost feels like a tickly itch rather than me wanting to scratch it like crazy like I do with eczema on a couple of areas on my body.

I've tried Anusol thinking it was hemorrhoids. I went to the doctor who thought it might be fungal, however the cream Daktakort I was given made no difference. Was also given suppositories which had a mild steroid in. Still no change.

Went to a diff doctor who thought they could see a scar of a fissure and it would just need time to heal..

Went back again to another doctor for another opinion recently and was given some steroid cream to apply down there but that seemed to irritate it more causing an almost twinge like itch feeling when sitting. But still very mild.

It has recently started to get a little crazy itchy after a bowel movement, but will calm down if I put an ice pack on it or use really cold water to clean after and don't move for a while.

No blood or pain when going.

Doc has said he can refer me to a proctologist who can take a closer look inside, but from his view everything down there looked normal and he did a digital rectal exam very quickly.

Am I over thinking this or should i just got to the proctologist. I don't know if it's skin related or something internal.

Anyone else experienced this before?

It's been over 3 months today so I am getting a little worried.

Sounds pretty uncomfortable!  So, if it is a hemorrhoids issue, that could be chronic.  How is your diet?  How's your bowel movements?  Are they loose often?  That can be an issue for chronic anal itching.  What about yeast overgrowth?  Yes, I think you need to see another doctor.  What is the specialist of the doctors you've seen or were they general doctors.  Do you have any underlying conditions that you know of like diabetes?

Stools are fairly consistent I think. It's been very mild today only slight tickly type itch in one or two spots of the opening area it feels like. Id say 90% of the time it's been incredibly mild and not wanted to make me really want to scratch it. I just put up with it. I'll see how it goes when I have my daily movement later as last night it went crazy after that then calmed down.

yes, doctors I saw were general doctors and they couldn't seem to see yeast infection when they looked apart from the first visit who provided the fungal cream as they initially thought it was something like that.

No under lying health issues I'm aware of as had a full medical in August which showed no diabetes.

Diet is ok but I could probably eat more fruit and veg.

Thank you for your replies! :)

My biggest confusion is why the irritation is when walking or moving the lower half of my body !? Nothing when I sit or stand still.

Hello~Since this has been going on for so long, I think I would see the proctologist, he/she will probably be able to discern if it is a skin condition or something internal. In the meantime, while waiting to see one, try soaking in a hot bath with either Epsom salts or Aveeno bath, both can have soothing effects on itching.
