Bruising..

What causes bruising when no injuries were involved? I have always experienced a problem with bruising easily, getting blood work done for it, but I was just curious to know if anyone else may have a possible answer to why this may be? I get several, all over, some major, others not too bad, but I don't know where most, if not all of them, what caused them or where they came from.

Mkh9 gave a good Answer. Usually a consult with a hematologist is in order.

Thanks, I'll be getting tested sometime this week. Once I know what is going on I'll be sure to post about it. I know I was tested for this before, nothing came up, but since it's been more reoccurring lately and serious, I was told I should be tested again.

Well the lab work will tell more. Sometimes you could have a factor deficiency (usually genetic) or low platelet count that makes you bleed easier and bruise easily. It could be a number of other things even aging. If you are taking aspirin or Ibupropin and some other drugs may cause this too. I have that problem as well and I know my grandpa bled easily and I bruise easily. They never tested it except once I had too high of clotting time (prothrombin time) and they gave me a shot of vitamin K and I seemed to get better after that. Let me know how it goes when you get your blood tests.
