Rabies?

Dear everyone,

Today, while saying hello to a small dog, I was barked at and bit of saliva may or may not have entered my eye. I've read that rabies can be transmitted through the eye. I'm from the UK, which i believe is "rabies-free"??
Should I be worried about this. The dog was ver yappy and had a muzzle. It's owner said it has always behaved like that.

Many thanks for any responses.

And a happy new year to you all.

It was probably just a yappy dog
but if you feel weird I'd go see a doctor ASAP

Has the dog had a rabies vaccine? If you don't know and if you don't know the location of the owner I would seek medical attention just in case!!
The last rabies reported was in Scotland about 8-10 years ago.
