Hello MedHelp community,
Two weeks ago I was invited to a social event in a garden. I was given a chair that consisted in two parallel crossbars and in the middle of them, hanging from one to the other, a piece of canvas. The canvas was quite hard (it didn't stretch) and was hanging quite loose.
I sat on that chair feeling really uncomfortable for about 2 hours and 30 minutes but I wasn't confident with the owner of the house so I didn't dare to ask him for a change. My own weight made me "sink" in the canvas and it squeezed the upper back part of my legs (right below my buttcheeks) and a bit of the sides, compressing them. During that time I got up briefly a couple of times to fetch a few things, then sat back again, until it became too uncomfortable and I decided I had to do something and asked the owner of the house if he had another chair.
Well, then he gave me another chair but the pain went on. I had to take pain killers that night because it hurt, not terribly but considerably (enough to be uncomfortable and bothersome to sleep). Next day I checked in the mirror and there was nothing visible in my legs: not haemorrhage, not red, nothing. But still it hurt and I started having unvoluntary shakings in the area, like small tremblings which last a few seconds, and also like electricity or shots of electric current in the area from time to time. So at night I went to a clinic doctor and he gave me a shot of analgesics in the butt and told me to go the next 2 days to have another one of those, and in between take ibuprofen or some other painkiller (all of which I did).
About one week later the pain receded a bit, but now, two weeks later from the event, it came back in full swing (and I didn't realize of any event that would explain this comeback), as if it hadn't recovered at all or weren't healing. Also the local shakings have come back as well and the area doesn't feel good. Most of the time it's pain, but when it goes strong there's also a slight burning sensation. Whenever I seat somewhere during a good while, when I wake up that pain is more evident.
What do you think the damage can be and how long will the symptoms take to go away? Is there anything I can do about it? Is there some sort of excercise that will help that area improve? Some analgesic? Maybe a local cream? It's bothering me and honestly I'm starting to get worried about it.
Thanks in advance,
Otto
