Can you take Addreall before Anesthesia?

Can you take addreall before Anesthesia

My husband is being put to sleep tomorrow to have two teeth cut out.  We both forgot about the appointment.  He is prescribed Addreall and has been taking it.  She we reschedule the appointment?

The answer is that you should not be taking adderall and going under anaesthesia regardless of what your oral surgeon states.

That is not to state that you will endanger your life. You are pulling the cow in two different directions. The purpose of an anaesthetic is to calm down the brain and put it to sleep. The function of Adderall (a drug I am not very fond of, as it is addictive) is to stimulate.

This means that the standard dose charts for anesthesia are meaningless.

I would give the dentist/oral surgeon a call who is doing the surgery and ask them.  There are some medications that should be avoided before any type of anesthesia, but I'm not sure if Adderall is one of them.  At any rate, it's still very impoirtant for them to know that your husband is on this medication, even if they don't need him to stop taking it prior to surgery.

Best of luck!
