Accidentally ripped off a mole on my neck. Help :(

Hi, my name is Hannah and I'm 18(:
Yesterday my roommates cat jumped on my back and clawed my neck when I tried getting him off. His nail got my mole and it bled a tad bit. Today it was itching so not thinking I kind of rubbed it a little. When out of nowhere I see blood running down my chest into my cleavage. I ran to the bathroom and I was covered in blood. My neck had a line of blood about the width of a sharpie running all the way down from my mole to my boobs. I put a bandaid on it trying to stop the bleeding but it bled right through. After about 10 minutes of me holding a towel to it I over lapped 2 bandaids over it and finally got the bleeding under control. Why did it bleed so much for such a tiny little mole? And should I get it checked out? Thank you(:

See a dermatologist if it doesn't heal in a week or if the mole was black. Keep the wound dry for several days and dressed with bactricidal cream.  When it scabs rub it daily with Vitamin E squeezed from the capsules and take 1000 mg of vitamin C a day for at least a week. As everyone stated lots of bleeding is normal. It would have been nice to have saved the mole for evaluation of taken a picture of it with your digital camera. Constant pressure for several minutes will generally stop the bleeding.

moles, as well as skin tags, have tons of little blood vessels running through them, thats why they bleed so bad. I had that happen before. your best bet is to have it checked out, just to be safe
