Black spot in the middle of my vision

About two years ago I started developing a small black spot in the middle of my eye. It doesn't float around my eye. Although, It does move with my vision. If I look to the left, it'll move to the left while staying smack dab in the middle of my eye. When it first developed it was like a faded spot in my eye, but I could still see passed it. Now it has darkened and I can't see through it at all. Over a year ago it started developing a line that comes from it. The line it self is still very light and I can see past it easily. I get headaches a lot where my temple is at on that side. I went to the eye doctor a year ago and he said that he couldn't see anything, so it appears to be a floater. It keeps getting worse and it is ALWAYS there.  Is there anything else it could be or does it sound like a floater?

Any eye doctor that would send you away when you say you have a black spot blocking your vision isn't one I would want to go to.  Here is the thing, it isn't normal to have this so you need to go and see someone else.  The doctor has written you off.  Unfortunately, you need to take matters into your own hands and go and get another opinion and don't leave without a diagnosis.

I agree that you should get another opinion. Whenever you see any black spots in the center of your vision, it can be a sign of retinal detachment so that needs to be ruled out. If it turns out to be a floater, then you don't have to worry about it, just something you have to learn to live with. Sometimes floaters just appear and then just as suddenly disappear, or stay around for years. Floaters can be removed by a procedure called a vitrectomy, but that can be risky, also sometimes by laser, but that is something only a qualified opthamologist can discuss. Good Luck!

Thank you all for your opinions. I'm getting everything together, so I can get to the eye doctor asap.
