blackout?

Last week, me and my friends were drinking in a local bar. I got pretty high. I din't do anything stupid. I remember the whole evening , every conversation , every joke my friends made. I remember me going to the toilet to puke and stuff...well, i remembered everything.

After two days when i went there, a guy confronted me saying that i had got into a fight with him in the bathroom and i had broken his phone and i had to buy him a new one. Now, i don't have the faintest idea of doing anything close to that. But he said that i was drunk and i would have forgotten everything.

Now , can he be right? i remember the whole evening. Could i have forgotten only this incident alone?
Or is this guy lying ? What do i do? It's an expensive phone.

I think he is lying but he seems convincing.A friend of his confirms this. Is it possible that we remember the whole night but we lose memory of only ten mins or something?

Many of my friends have forgotten stuff from their earlier nights from drinking. But they would know that they blacked out .
Is it possible to lose some memory without your knowledge from drinking?

Anyone who is heavily under the influence of alcohol or other drugs is at risk for having lapses in her/his recollection of an event or situation.  It is difficult to say what actually happened.  He and his friends could be lying because they know you were drunk or you experience a lapse in your recollection of the situation.

I would replace the phone if you have no witnesses that know you didn't do it and consider this a unforgetable experience.

Yes, your brain is not going to retain every piece of information when it is influenced by alcohol or narcotics.
It is very possible that you may have forgotten this part of your night.
It is also possible that he could be lying. Is this a coed bathroom?
Were there any other witnesses?
