Pain behind my left eye..

I have been having headaches that are located behind my left eye for over a week now. They start at the same time everyday and last about the same length of time 3-5 hours. I have not seen a Dr about it yet I just want to know what might be causeing these to happen. I have tried pain meds and nothing over the counter works. Any ideas?

Dr. Oz was just on about headaches.  he described your headache as a "cluster" headache and said it can occur the same time each day over and over again.  It was suggested:  avoid alcohol, get prescripition for a triptan medication and use a capsacian nasal spray for relief. -  Hope this helps.  You can go to the internet to Dr. Oz and try to see his program again.

go to a good optpmitrist.  they will dialate your eye and see what is going on behind your eye.  it is not painful.  I just in the past year had cataract surgery on both eyes.  my right eye is giving me problems.  it waters a lot.  he said I had dry eye problems have to use eye drops every hour for the rest of my life.  makes me wonder if he made a mistake, mandy876

Sounds like migraines. I am going through the same thing only my right eye. I go to see a neurologist soon to have him run a MRI and ct-scan.

There are a number of reasons why you have been experiencing pain behind your eye.

If it is through congestion of the sinuses and they are infected you will need an antibiotic.

Headaches and eye pains can also be from glaring at the computer for too long and requiring glasses.

I would advise you to see your doctor and also make an appointment to see the ophthalmologist to check your eyes so that the correct diagnosis can be made so that you get the appropriate treatment.

Best wishes
