I would sure see your doctor and let him know. Pain like this should not be ignored, I hope you are feeling better by now.

Hi CC0323.

It looks like your copper IUD is highly suspect.
Copper IUDs have been implicated in pelvic inflammatory diseases
and many other complications.

I personally know a physician (Dr. M) who once he discovers a female patient has an IUD, he will refuse treatment, unless she agrees to have it removed.
(To be fair though, he also does the same with smokers who have heart
related issues. He does not treat them again, unless they agree to quit
smoking)

My wife had a copper IUD, for a couple years prior to our marriage and had nothing but problems like abdominal and pelvic pains, abnormal bleeding and at one time it was suggested to her that she had STDs, which later got ruled out.
Her problems, magically vanished after its removal! (I encouraged her strongly to do this, since I was really concerned about her health and also our sex life was affected b'cause of it as well)

Think about it. You have a foreign object, inserted in your body, which is made of copper! There's nothing safe, nor natural about this, even if many if not most doctors think that IUDs are fairly safe!

If you google "copper oxychloride"( the product of copper oxidation )
and "copper IUDs", you will get a study  on the effects of oxidation of the copper IUD in your endometrium and cervix.

I hope I convinced you to have a serious look at this.

Please let me know if you need any more details.
I must forewarn you though, I tend to get very technical sometimes, lol!

Best wishes,
Niko
