Shared Razor Blades Once

Good day medhelp.. I would just like to ask if it is possible to get hpv, whether it be the normal hpv or genital hpv, herpes, or any other viruses for that matter, through sharing razor blades?

Here's my situation.. This morning, when I used my shaving blade, I noticed that there were a few pieces of hair left in the blade. I ran the blade through water though, before I used it, but there was still a few pieces of hair left. I am not certain which part of the body the hair came from, but to me it resembled to be pubic hair. I asked people in my house about who used the blade before me, and I was informed that someone in our house tried it out first to ensure that it's safe to use and won't cut me.  The person had used it yesterday.

Now my concern is, is it possible to get hpv or other viruses from this standpoint? Seeing that it was used a day before I did use it, and I ran it through water before I actually used it. Say that it was used either for facial hair or pubic.. And can viruses actually live long enough on hair? Or the blades? Thank you very much!

To put your mind at ease go for a blood test! I would also keep my personal health products somewhere that they can't get to.

Yes I have told them not to do it again. They do not usually do it, they just just did it now to see if the blades were safe to use.. And I have discarded the blade as well.

I'm not entirely sure if they have HPV, but I'm just really being paranoid. I don't really think they have it, I'm just being too worried.

I'm really worried because I noticed that there was still hair AFTER I used it. What I'm worrying about is that maybe, if there was indeed hpv in the blades or the hair, I would get hpv from that. Though I rinsed it with water before using it.

Also, the moment I stopped using it, i went to get a small tub, filled it with water and a little soap. I dettached the blade and put it there, soaked it up a little while also shaking it, and then finally rinsing it. After that I used the blade again. This time though I cut myself accidentally (happens a lot when  I shave) and I bled a little.

I'm really scared that I might have gotten HPV from this situation.. Though I'm not even about the way that person has used my razor blade, and if he actually has HPV..

I would have discarded the blade but that's me! You should have also soaked it in alcohol!

That person should have asked first before using your razor. It's something you don't share. Do any of the people in your house have HPV? I think you're fine. The razor had dried for a whole day. You might want to tell the people in your house to not use your personal items so never have to worry about this kind of thing again.
