Consistent Mucus build-up in throat whenever I eat or drink.

Whenever I eat food or drink, I get this mucus/phlegm build up in my throat that comes up bring up and it makes swallowing the food unpleasant. When I bring it up its very thick in water, no one else gets this when they eat but me. I don't get any acid feeling, just this thick substance.
Also, lately it feels like food is traveling down my throat slower than usual and then stops and dissapears at my upper chest.

Some people say its normal but I've never noticed it this slow before.

I want to be able to eat like everyone else without having to deal with thick mucus build-up in my throat whenever I eat or drink!

It will persist while I eat and linger a few minutes afterwards. The consistency of the mucus/phlegm ) Is so thick It worries me when I think about what it could be doing inside my body when I swallow it with my food.

The heart doctors said that my symptoms have nothing to do with my heart because he didn't find anything.

Some irregular heartbeats are benign; some are not.  There are young athletes who in the middle of a game collapse with a heart attack.... not saying you will.
Just want to encourage you to see a heart specialist to allay your fears and anxiety.
I have lived with an irregular heartbeat all my life and I am now 70.   Just want you to relax and try not to become too anxious about it.  Keep your appointment with your doctor and please let us know what he says.

     Wishing you the best.

I really appreciate you both for replying.
I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me it might be acid reflux, and how it could also be why I get chest pains & discomfort. For right now he thinks its acid, so he has me taking an acid reducer called Omeprazole Magnesium.
for three weeks and scheduled to come back.
He says we should do 1 thing at a time to rule things out first.

I'm going to make a new thread for what im about to say since it involves the heart.

The doctor had me get my heart rate checked so I took this test where they clip something on your finger and it checks your heart rate.
The machine said that 'too many irregular heartbeats were detected'. and the lady told me I had an artificial heartbeat. I even felt my heart going faster than normal or slower than usual at times, sometimes I don't feel the heartbeat at all and wonder if its beating. It worries me when I try to sleep.
She said it was important to find ways to stay calm and control anxiety.
Whenever I asked questions she told me I should really see a heart doctor because they will be able to explain it better.
My appointment is next Saturday (kind of a long wait)
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is 'bad' about having an irregular heartbeat. Is it curable, what can it do to you. Is it dangerous.
The lady mentioned a pacemaker, but I'm not very keen on having heart surgery.. I'm only 19.

Definitely agree with silver fox.  Food and drink that can cause immediate phlegm production are dairy, fried foods, and anything that might irritate the mucous membranes.  Other things to avoid are alcohol, caffeine, and smoking.

If there is accompanied itching, it could be oral allergy syndrome.

Even though there is no accompanying burning, it still could be GERD (acid refulx), especially if it is happening with just about everything you eat or drink, including water.

What are you eating or drinking?  Milk, cheese and orange juice cause phlegm.  You might be lactose intolerant.  That would cause phlegm and sometimes a headache or make your eyes hurt.

You might try taking enzymes just before your first bite.  That sometimes will thin the phlegm.
   Wishing you the best outcome
