Tick bite

I removed a tick from my leg last night, but I'm pretty sure that the head is still embedded. What should I do to remove that?

You don't need to "read-up" on lyme disease.

You need to see a physician immediately who is Familiar with Lyme. Immediately means now. As of five minutes ago.

You know those old world war II movies where you are on an aircraft carrier and the loudspeaker blares:

"Battle Stations. ALL PILOTS MAN YOUR PLANES. THIS IS NO DRILL!"

While all ticks don't carry Lyme many do.

This disease is the proverbial nightmare on Elm street.

There is a short window of opportunity in which to administer antibiotics.

If you miss it you're headed for trouble in River City.

Hi,
It probably is only the muti-barbed hypostome (like a harpoon that they use to attach to you) and not the tick head  that is still left in. You don't need to remove it as it is harmless and will fester out itself similar to a splinter coming out. If the tick head is still in there you can use a needle to carefully remove it. Make sure you get tested for lyme disease.
Good luck

Go see a doctor. It may help to take the rest of the tick and get it tested.
