Mysterious and Intermittent Pain in Lower Right Abdomen/Groin Area.

I also asked this in the mens health section.  I know, appendicitis right?  That's the first thing everyone says in every forum I've read like this.  But hear me out.  I'm a 41 year old male.  I've had on again, off again pains in my lower right abdomen for about 2 years.  I'd go a week with it, a month without it.  Today, suddenly, I've got it again and it's a little more painful than usual.  I've been to the doctor about this before.  I even got an ultrasound.  They said my appendix was fine, and when I pointed out the exact spot of the pain, they said it was actually lower than my appendix.  They saw nothing.  All they could come up with was my ketones in my urine were high.  It's hard to describe the exact area.  When sitting, it's right on the crease line that goes between the groin and hip.  Make sense?  What could this be?

It sounds "rib" related. I would see a chiropractor, they can adjust ribs and normally after that, all is well.

I get the same thing but on my left side no doctors can find out what it is they class it as a phantom pain I suggest you keep on at the doctors to find out what it is

Have you had a colonoscopy? Possibly diverticulitis. Do you feel tired and or a little feverish?

When younger and even now I periodically have the same issue. When I was 15 i woke up in wicked pain worst I'd felt memory wise. Tried to make it to my parents room but after a few steps crumpled to the floor in unbearable pain.... Extremely sharp and not much fluctuation in level. Then it went away when I took a leak I think... Or just subsided enough for me so pass out.. Since then I've had it happen a few times but nothing like that pain level. To note the severity of pain and put into context my personal pain tolerance. Everyone is different. At 4 yo I feel 3 or 4 feet from a hobby bench with steel stools flipped up onto bench for GI joe zip lines... Sorry I ramble. Split my lip broke nose and worst part is one of the steel stools fell right on my sternum. My sternum cracked the length. Never found out till I got pneumonia and needed an X-ray 4 or so years later... Doctor said he couldn't believe I didn't say a word with such a painful injury. Would had to of pit me in excruciating pain while just breathing...
Wish I could be of some help. My aunt gets a ton of stones... If you pain is stones, drinking a ton of water every day should at the very least lessen the episodes. It really helps her and it might be why I get less I drink a ton more water then I used to.
My mom had a very long battle with pain right there also tho hers wasn't apend or stones... It took years of pain pils for her and exploratory surgery to find one heck of a mess. She would get some relief from pain by putting pressure on the spot. If that hurts you its a good thing then it's not like she used to have....Good luck tho. I've been in pain I couldn't deal with for 7 years. 32 years old and basically killing myself to live... Working on loosing the massive band aid of morphine and percs and getting some sort of real relief. 100 mg morphine and 10-315  Percocet.
Once again I hope you make some progress and really hope in all my ramblings something might help you.

Thank you very much for that response and I'm sorry you've had to go through so much pain.
