Backache is most commonly seen in any stage of life including children also. The  reason behind that back pain is our sedentary life style and un proper diet. Stress factor also elevate the back pain. Multiple physical factors like heavy weight lifting also gives rise to origin to back pain.It is  a symptom and not a disease whose cause lies elsewhere in the body.

Lower back pain may be associated any abnormitity of  lumbar spine, discs between the vertebrae, ligaments around the spine and discs, spinal cord and nerves, lower back muscles, abdomen and internal organs present in that reason like kidney etc

While upper back pain  may be related to the disorders of the aorta, tumors in the chest, and spine inflammation.

P.S. my pain was mostly on my left side.   couldn't walk or sleep.   mine progressed to the point of losing feeling between my legs.   i could tell when i had to go to the bathroom but i couldn't tell anything was coming out without looking. i would get ridiculous restless leg syndrome in my left leg to the point the pain would cause me to kick or spasm uncontrollably, mostly at night when it was time to sleep.

After surgery I very slowly started getting feeling back but it's still not the same as before anything happened and restless leg is very much reduced.  Wish I had gotten to the root of the issue sooner.

If it's actual low back pain and/or sends shouting pains down the leg of the side it is on then you could have a burst or herniated disc in your spine.   That's what mine was and I ended up needing back surgery.   you should see a doctor as soon as possible.   they may have you get abunch off tests.  the seriousness of my issue could not be seen without an MRI.  All an x-ray showed was some retrolisthesis.  Most people I encountered during this issue would comment I was too young and healthy looking to be having serious back issues.  So go get tested and do your research on the different kinds of back surgeries before making a decision.   Mine was minimally invasive and didn't cut though a bunch of muscle like some back surgeries.

I agree about seeing your doctor.  This is a common area for pain when we are having kidney issues.  But anything that is excruciating to the point of not walking should be examined.  Pain can travel as in referred pain as well, so best to get checked out.  Let us know how you are doing!

If your back pain is to the point of preventing you from sleeping and walking, you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. Make an appointment and have someone drive you. I wish you the best outcome.
