A quick chat and check witgh your doctor would reassure you, but you should also know that arrhthmias like the ones you describe are very common in people of older years. The fact that you feel in good health is a certain sign that you shouldn't have to worry at all.
Hello,
well you could have a benign arrhythmia. I had some fluttering and skipping beats and sometimes some chest pain. If you haven't had an EKG I would get one and if that is negative then you can get a 24 hour monitor you wear at home. Then you bring it back and they read the results and get back to you. Also, I had an echocardiogram to look for structural problems and I didn't have any. My 24 hour monitor said I had PAC's. I think they are pre atrial contractions and they are totally benign. But there are also PVC's, which also a type of arrhythmia that is mostly benign but occasionally can become atrial fibrillation, but rarely and then there is Afib (atrial fibrillation) where you have to take beta blockers to prevent a heart attack. Most likely you have a benign arrhythmia which I think most people have. If you drink something with caffeine or too much sugar these trigger it as do some medications. If you try cutting off these things it should help. I was also taking a muscle relaxer called Flexeril and that caused mine.
hope this helps.
