ate some ants

Hi everyone,

I am not really sure where to post this, so I am going to put it here.

This may sound really dumb, but I accidentally ate some ants today. I was eating a snack cake  and I didn't notice the wrapper had ants on it. They were tiny ants, I guess they are sugar ants.

I was wondering if this is dangerous. I have really bad anxiety and it is making me very nervous.

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies.

I am feeling better about the whole thing now. Everyone's comments really helped reassure me that eating ants is no big deal.

Thanks again.

I cannot tell you how much good money I paid to eat ants in Thailand.

And you didn't even have to pay for airfare!

No. It is not dangerous.

Good protein.

No worries.

We have all eaten pieces and parts of insects in our lives whether we knew it or not.

Dangerous for the ants, but not for you. Just kidding. Seriously, I don't think you have a thing to worry about. Just keep monitoring how you are feeling, if you start feeling "odd" and not from anxiety, then call the ER, but, I really do not think that is going to happen. You will have more of a reaction from the anxiety than anything else. :-)
