facial swelling unexplained

My husband's lips and cheeks will swell up for no apparent reason...the swelling will last for 3 to 5 days....benedryl doesn't do much good...what can be causing this to happen??  When the swelling begins his only symptom is a tingling in his lips and then all of a sudden he looks like someone hit him with a baseball bat.

I have had the same exact thing for 3 yrs....I have tried the allergy specialist done the testing and nothing conclusive.  I take Zyrtec and Zyzol no help.  The swelling can be in my face, feet or arms....all I hear is its idiopathic recurring angioedema......I WISH WE COULD FIND AN ANSWER!
