My thumb movement is getting better each day but that firm lump/bump around it hasnt reduced abit. Thats one of the main reason for my limited movement. Do you know what it is?
Inflammation. Try to elevate it so it can heal.
No I do not know what it is. It could be still swelling that has not gone down yet.
Make an appointment to see your doctor, he will be able to examine your hand and tell you if it is healing OK. If the doctor suspects that there may be an infection that is causing the lumps/bumps he will prescribe you with an antibiotic.
Did ER give you a tetanus shot? If not, it would be wise to ask the doctor about that too.
Best wishes.
I think is inflammation too but its been 11 days with no change. It not a huge lump/bump around the cut but noticeable, its more noticeable when you feel it. As for infection i dont think its infected since theres no symptom of infection when i googled. ER nurse did prescribe me 10 days worth of antibiotic on the day of visit. One of the nurse wanted to give me tetanus shot but i refused lol im against vaccination and my wound was cut when i was cutting vegetables so theres less worries compared to something like meat.
Glad that you did get some antibiotics.
You can still get tetanus from the soil. Because I used to work a lot in the garden and have my hands in dirt or get scratched or pricked by a rose bus, I ensured that my tetanus (lock jaw) immunization was up to date.
The area would be red and painful with an infection. The bumps/lumps are likely to subside in time.
Best wishes.
Thanks, i guess ill wait it out.
btw could numbing shot fluid be trapped in muscle or the region around the cut?
If you are concerned and having problems with moving your thumb, make an appointment to see your doctor so that he can examine your hand to ensure no damage has been done to any underlying nerves. You may need physiotherapy to help regain the movement in the thumb or your doctor may give you advise with regard to this.
Best wishes.
