Hi mkh9,
Thanks for your response and encouraging words. I too hope in the same way as most people have high cholseterol level in their serum and that should not be a hindrance. Moreover, my values were in normal range (as per the range for Indians; I heard that these values differ for different races) for all the parameters except triglycerides.I am waiting for the medical clearance from IAEA and let you know about their decision. Thanks once again for your response.
Hi kathirvet,
Congratulations on the job offer. I can't tell you what their guidlines for hiring are. They shouldn't discriminate based on health but it depends on your ability to do the job and what they decide on that. I don't see why they wouldn't hire you based on your cholesterol and triglycerides being high. But, you probably need to get on a statin drug such as Crestor. Your liver enzymes will have to be monitored though as these can be affected by statin drugs.
take care,
mkh9
